Week 32 Update
We went to the doctor last Thursday afternoon. Sorry it's taken me so long to update! Everything was great. Jack's heartbeat was strong and steady. My blood pressure was great. They checked my iron levels again to see if my iron supplement is working. The past 3 times they have checked it, the level has gone down even though I've been taking this supplement for months. I guess Jack is taking all of my iron. We should have those results tomorrow. I just need to remember to call to check because it seems like they never remember to call me.
I have a workshop this week (Mon-Wed) that is required, so I asked the dr if I could go. He told me that he didn't really have a reason to tell me not to go, but if my water breaks, it's not his fault. :-) We really have no way to know if I will try to go into pre-term labor again, so he wants me to continue modified bed rest until Aug 17. That is the first day back to school for teachers. I asked him about starting school, and he told me that by that point (I'll be 36 weeks on the 18th), he won't care if I go into labor. So I get to go back to school when I'm scheduled. Luckily I have an awesome team that is willing to set up my classroom for me, so I don't have that pressure. I'm just so happy that I won't have to waste my maternity leave on bed rest. I was really worried that I would have to take time off before he was born then have to go back to work sooner than I wanted.
We go back to the dr next Thursday afternoon, then after that we go every week! I can't believe we have made it this far. I am so very thankful each and every day.

31 Weeks

We are 31 weeks today! Yippee!! There isn't really any new news other than I am still feeling great. I went to Kristin's birthday party on Sunday afternoon. I figured I could sit on Katie's couch as easily as I could sit on my own. It was so nice to get out of the house and be around more people. I will have been on bed rest for 4 weeks tomorrow. As you can imagine, there are more fun things that I would rather be doing, but at least I don't have to be out in the 105 heat every day! Tim's mom and sisters are hosting a shower for me on Saturday, and I'm so excited that I get to go. I'm sure I'll have an update after that.
Here are some pictures of Jack's 3D sonogram. I've tried for a week to get the video to upload, and it's not working. I think it's just too big. His nose looks a little big in these pictures but that's because of the angle and the fact that you are looking through water at him. I still think he's cute!

30 Week Visit and 3D Sonogram
We went to the dr this morning for my 30 week visit. He is so happy that everything looks great and that I'm feeling well. I am still on modified bed rest. This means that I can move around the house, but I need to stay off of my feet as much as possible. So, no chores or shopping or going out to eat or anything like that. He did tell me that I can go to the shower that Tim's mom and sisters are throwing me next Saturday. That is exciting!
We also had our 3D sonogram today. Jack looks great! He is weighing in at 3 lbs 11 oz. That's a 5 oz gain from last week. My amniotic fluid level is 19 cm. The tech told me that I hadn't told her I ruptured, she wouldn't be able to tell. His head is still down too. We go back to the dr in 2 weeks. Hopefully these next 2 weeks will be uneventful.
I ave tried to upload the video from the sonogram today for 3 hours. I will try to upload it to a separate post. If it doesn't work we will scan in the pictures so you can see his cute face. Jack definitely has the same lips as Callie, and he already knows how to frown just like my dad. See if you can recognize it. He is smiling in a couple of shots too. So cute!

Home at Last
I've been home for 2 days now, and it is so weird! It is very hard to be as restful at home compared to being in the hospital. I'm not completly bound to my bed. I can rest in bed or on the couch. I can even eat meals at the table. But since I can do all of those things, it's hard to remember that I have to stay resting.
The first night home was overwhelming. Who knew a ride in the car and eating dinner could be so exhausting! Callie was completely surprised when I walked in the door. She said, "Mommy, you're not supposed to be here." Then she gave me the longest kiss ever. Tim's mom came over that day and worked herself to death trying to get the house ready for me to come home. She was so sweet to do that. She changed the bed, cleaned up, and even cleaned out the fridge! I was so grateful.
I hardly slept at all the first night home. How ironic is that? You can't wait to get home in your own bed, then you can't sleep. Weird! Last night was better. I'm still pretty tired though. I'm going to have to go to bed earlier I think. Old habits die hard. Hopefully tonight will be better.
We have a dr appointment tomorrow morning and are having our 3-D sonogram. I will get the pics from that posted as soon as I can. If coming home on Monday wore me out, imagine how tired I'll be after a 2 hour dr appointment. :-) I'll let you know how it goes.

Great News!
I got the best news ever today! I get to go home this evening!!!!! I haven't had any fluid leak since last Wednesday morning. So the dr. came in this morning and ordered two tests to see if there was any amniotic fluid present. Both tests came back negative which means that the slow leak that I've had has sealed! I will still be on total bed rest at home, but I am so excited to sleep in my own bed tonight. I was so terrified almost 3 weeks ago that I would have a baby in the NICU at this point that I don't know how to express how overwhelmingly thankful I am. I know that all of the prayers that all of you have prayed on our behalf (as well as the ones I've sent up) have been the answer.
At this point I will see the dr every two weeks as I normally would at this point in my pregnancy. I will be 30 weeks tomorrow, so we'll the see the dr this week, then again at 32 and 34 weeks. After 34 weeks we'll see him every week until this little guy decides to be born. Theoretically I could carry him to full term, but we'll wait and see on that. There is no need to deliver me at 34 weeks now because I am no longer considered "ruptured". We will just continue to pray that I do not go into pre-term labor again. If I do then Jack will be born at that piont.
We are not going to tell Callie that I'm coming home tonight. She has a playdate at Ben's (her best friend/boyfriend for those of you that don't know), so I'm planning to surprise her when I get home. I am so happy that she can just come in my room to see me if she wants to hang out instead of it having to be a choreographed circus just to get her here for an hour.
I have so many things to be thankful for and so many wonderful family and friends that have supported me over the last 20 days. Please continue to pray for us that I will not go into pre-term labor and that this little guy will stay put!

20 Thoughts About Bed Rest
1. I feel better than I've felt since finding out I was pregnant.
2. There is no laundry or dishes to do in the hospital.
3. I can't get a cup of ice for myself.
4. I'm afraid I will forget how to be independent when I get home because . . .
a. people take my order for breakfast, lunch, and dinner
b. turn the thermostat up or down at my request
c. someone brings me clean towels and takes away the dirty ones
d. someone empties the trash and cleans the toilet
e. someone changes the sheets on my bed EVERY DAY
5. I'm getting a lot of reading done.
6. I've read about 10 magazines.
7. Callie is very particular about asking me where I'm going when I get up to use the restroom and then insists that she come with me to "make sure I'm ok".
8. Crunch-N-Munch is delicious.
9. I get to hear my baby's heartbeat for 20 min to an hour twice a day every day.
10. I get to have a sonogram every single week until he's born.
11. I get to talk to Jeri every day on the phone, and we even talked for 2 hours on Saturday! We haven't done that since we were in college.
12. All of my meals are brought to me in bed, and I don't have to clean up afterward.
13. I have to wear these cuffs on my calves that inflate so that I don't get blood clots. The actual inflating is quite nice, but the cords get on my nerves.
14. They insist on taking my blood pressure every 4 hours whether I'm sleeping or not.
15. The TV at the hospital does not have the Food Network or HGTV.
16. I'm watching sports I never knew existed.
17. Michael Jackson died . . . did everyone know that?
18. Thankfully the hospital has WIFI and the networks put shows online.
19. I do get restroom and shower priviledges.
20. Bed rest makes monthly pedicures very difficult.
2. There is no laundry or dishes to do in the hospital.
3. I can't get a cup of ice for myself.

Week 29 Sonogram
Well, I am VERY happy with the results of my sonogram today! My amniotic fluid level is 18 cm, which is 2 cm more than last week. It's not a significant increase, but still in the "normal" range for someone with ruptured membranes. Jack has turned and is head down once again. Woo Hoo!!!! He has gained a pound and a half and is now weighing in at a whopping 3 lbs 6 oz. I am so excited about all of this news.
Tim came up to spend the morning with me and will back this evening with Miss Callie. Hopefully she'll be in a better mood today than she has been the past two nights. She slept at home last night, so maybe that will have helped her mood.
Thanks for the encouraging thoughts and all of the prayers. They are definitely working!
