Jack is 6 Months Old!

Jack turned six months old on February 4th. We took him in yesterday for his check-up. He is a very healthy, big boy! He has met all of his developmental milestones except for rolling over. He has just started rolling from his back to his side but hasn't made it all the way over yet. The doctor said that could be because of his size. :) I never thought he would be too big to do anything when he was born so tiny! Here are his stats:

Weight: 18 lbs 6.5 oz
Height: 27 1/2 inches (he grew 2 3/4 inches in 2 months!)
# of Teeth: 2
Loves: Laughing and smiling
Playing with his squishy ball
Eating bananas
Sucking on his fingers
Chewing on his tongue

Doesn't Love: Laying on his tummy
Not much else . . . he's a very happy, laid back baby!

He's adjusting very well to his helmet. He went for his first follow-up today after just one week and already had to have it adjusted. Hopefully that's a good sign that he won't have to be in it for long. Here are some pictures:

Happy Birthday, Tim! Hello, Helmet! and Other Miscellaneous Things

This past week brought many exciting events. Tim's birthday was on the 28th, so I put a couple of b-day pictures on here of him. There's a picture of Callie ready to go to ballet class. She is doing so great and loving it. We're gearing up for her first recital in June. The girls are really practicing hard. Then, there's Jack. He got his helmet today. Those of you that talk to me regularly know that I have been less than thrilled about this day. BUT, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It'll be a little bit of an adjustment, but the helmet actually looks like a cute little picture frame for his adorable face!! :) We will break it in this week by gradually wearing it for longer periods of time until he is wearing it for 23 hours a day. Then we'll go back next week for a follow-up to see how he's doing. We also have his 6 month check up next week. WOW! I can't believe how big he's getting. More on that later . . .

This is the gift from Tom, Tim's brother. As you can see, he really likes it!

Besides the fact that this is the most adorable picture in the ENTIRE world, this is Callie & Jack's gift to Tim. Jack is not pictured b/c he was asleep (shocking, I know!).

Brother & Sister being cute while we watched the NFC play-off game.

Callie helping feed Jack his breakfast. She's actually very good at it. Helps me out a lot.

Callie decided she wanted to get it the high chair. I was surprised that she fit.

In her new tu-tu from Grandma. She said, "Mommy, I look like a birthday present in this." Love her!

After . . . look at those cheeks!

Callie said, "Oh, look at you little cutie, in your cute helmet!"

Just for Fun!!

So I thought I would put a picture of Jack at 5 months and picture of Callie at 5 months and see if anyone can tell who is who. It is CRAZY how much they look alike at this age. So much fun!

Jack is 5 Months

I can't believe that Jack is already 5 months old! He is getting so big and cute! We can't believe how much he looks like Callie did at this age. He is weighing in at 16 pounds 12 oz (and that's with his feet hanging over the end of the scale that we have at home). He is eating solids and loves the spoon! He eats rice cereal, squash, carrots, sweet potatoes, green beans, and has just started with applesauce. We tried green peas, but he hates them! I don't really blame him for that. I don't like them either. We'll try them again in a couple of weeks.

He is smiling all the time now and coos and talks to us lots. It's the cutest thing. He got a Jumperoo for Christmas and loves it even though he's not really jumping very much yet. He is very active and kicks his legs any time he's laying down. He's discovered his hands and watches them all the time. He will look at his right hand, then move it from side to side watching it the whole time. I guess he's mesmerized with the fact that he's making that thing move.

He's still not rolling over, but we're practicing! Hopefully he'll do it by his 6 month check-up. We have an appointment with the new cranial band place this afternoon. Hopefully we can get the ball rolling on that so we don't have to be in that thing any longer than necessary. Enjoy the pics!
