Callie's First Gymnastics Show

Last weekend was Callie's first gymnastics show. She did so great! Grammy and Summer were here and able to go with us. We were in AWE of the Texas Best Gymnastics team. Those girls were great! Callie's group did a dance, kind of like the floor exercise, and then went through a circuit showing off the gymnastics skills they have learned this year. Here are some pictures of the day . . .

Jack is 9 Months Old!!

My little cutie patootie is 9 months old! I can't believe it! Here are some of his stats:

Weight: 21 lbs 4.5 oz

Height: 28 3/4 in

# of Teeth: 7 (He cut 5 in the month of April.)

Tricks: He can say "mama" and "dada" and "ba". He is rolling all over the place to get where he's going. He's not crawling yet, but he has started to scoot on his belly using his legs. He doesn't use his arms yet, so he usually ends up with his face smushed on the floor. He laughs ALL the time and is eating us out of house and home. Once he stopped cutting teeth he actually started sleeping all night. Thank goodness!! He smiles so big at me every time I pick him up from Ms. Brandy's. He love, loves his big sister. They have so much fun playing together.

Here is my most recent picture of him. This was taken at his 9 month check-up while we were waiting for the doc to come in. He actually has enough hair for me to "faux-hawk". I just need to get some product so it will stay. :)

Our Spring Break Camping Trip

Tim, Callie, and I went camping over spring break (yes, in March). Our plans were to go for two nights, but the weather turned COLD and very wet in the middle of the night, so we packed it up at 6:00 in the morning and headed home. We had a really good time and the weather was great (but very windy). Here are some pictures of our fun!

Tim and Callie at the campsite before we set up the tent.

Callie helping Daddy with the tent . . .

This is her still helping a.k.a. taking a break (notice the tarp in the background? We strapped it to the pavillion to create a wind break. Yes, it was that windy. It was a great idea until I was trying to sleep at 2 in the morning when it was whipping back and forth.)

Back to actually helping . . .

She was so excited to finally have the tent up that she had to immediately get in her sleeping bag (it was a little warm).

Hanging out in the tent . . .

On our walk exploring the campground . . . that's the Brazos river in the background.

Roasting marshmallows before dinner . . .

Having some fun!

So when we went to bed everything was great (except for the crazy loud people having a karoke sing along and throwing washers on a piece of plywood until midnight). I finally got about 3 hours of sleep then was woken up by the loudest rain ever! It was raining so hard that it sounded like someone had dumped a bucket of pennies on our tent. The rain cover was on, so we thought we'd be ok. However, the wind was blowing so hard that it was blowing the rain into the tent. At 5:30 we decided to make a run for it. We got Callie in the truck almost completely dry, and proceeded to break down the campsite in the pouring rain. It was SOOOO cold! We left the campgrounds at 6:30 and made it home in time for Callie to go to gymnastics.
Here's a picture of what we woke up to the very next day! Texas weather is INSANE!

Jack's 8 Month Update

This is a couple of weeks late, but here is the latest on Jack . . .

He graduated from his helmet in ONLY 6 WEEKS!
He weighs a whopping 21 pounds!
He has cut 5 teeth since April 1st and has another one coming in now.
He laughs at his sister non-stop.
His smile can light up a room.
He is sitting up and is starting to show some interest in pulling up and standing.
He gives kisses (open-mouthed of course).
He has started to crinkle his nose when he smiles.
Here are a couple of cutie pictures of him . . .
Is this my Easter basket?
